The business cell

A home phone would be good, and I checked on the business sdls availability which is also good, and the phone is for business. I just wonder if I get the internet then run the phone over it if I can get a tax break on my internet costs. I think it makes sense, because I use the internet a lot of business as well, so it is most likely doable. I will just have to check into it and see what the appropriate laws are.

The voip phone system still seems the best idea to me. I haven’t had a chance to call anybody about it yet, which sucks, but too busy. Really need to get a short breather soon. Hopefully can take one after next week. Midterms finish in the middle of the week then a short break before diving back in the following week. Think I may take that and just relax for a day or two. See if I can find wherever my life went and perhaps drag it back.

It’s not that I am indecisive, just undecided at least in acting on telephones. I still have the business cell. I tried to do the grouping thing as I said, but it didn’t take so now trying to figure out what might be best.  It is currently looking like the best would be to just take the hit and cancel the contract. That sucks, cause of course they charge like a ridiculous fee, although I can’t complain too much because I knew of the fee at the beginning. However, I believe it might be cheaper to just go ahead and do that instead of paying the separate monthly fee. I think it will take about three months and the cancellation fee would be equaled, then it would just be adding on money I am paying for something I would do better getting elsewhere.

Phone not fun.

I know it might make me seem less important, only actually carrying one phone but I will be happier, as I am lazy and carrying the extra weight makes me want to take more naps.Trying to decide what telecoms are good or bad is almost really the same as choosing your sdsl internet, both are normally a pain.  I am hoping that if I cancel my business cell phone I will be able to get a better deal on my internet by trying to do the bundling services stuff that they offer.  That would be a good deal, I think. I could then just go ahead and forward the business phone and not worry about carrying around two phones all the time.

Phone problems again. Looks like I will be cancelling my business phone. I called the company to see if they could merge my accounts, but they were unable to do so. They told me they could, but instead they ended up unmerging the two accounts I already had merged, basically driving up my payment by about half. I was fairly unhappy to hear about that, more irritated than unhappy. I am thinking about doing the BT thing, maybe cancelling the business phone and going with a regular land line. See if I can get any discounts for that. I know it will cost me a bit up front but in the long run, actually after the first three months it will be saving me money to do it that way. The BT home phones might be a good deal, but if not there are other choices out there, depending on where you live. I think any home telephone system will be much better than keeping the cell line and paying extra for it. If they aren’t able to consolidate then I will just go ahead and drop it. Probably the smart thing to do anyway.

further iPhone

I have been playing with my new phone almost since I got it last week. It’s the best phone system,  I already have over 6 pages of apps, although I will be going through those as soon as I get a moment or two and culling them down to something less than three or so pages.  At least I hope to do that, might find that I like all the ones I have picked up so far. Although I am betting that there are a few that I am going to get rid of, just from briefly looking at them. I am currently spending time looking for a good to do list application. I have downloaded several but they weren’t that good to be honest. They were either too much trouble to use or just plain troublesome and not worth even turning them on. I am keeping an eye on the store, though. And yes, I am being somewhat cheap and trying all the free ones first. It only makes sense, especially with not being able to get a refund if you buy something that you don’t like. If I would have had to pay for all the free ones that I have already deleted I would be not only apologizing to my wallet I would be quite pissed.

There are so many applications to choose from on the iPhone. You will find whatever you want, though it’s faster to download them on your home broadband or at the local coffee shop. I have also found the texting to be a whole lot easier and faster on the phone than on my previous one. Now that they can do landscape mode with the texting it certainly makes a difference. I used texting on my friends before I got my own and at that time it was still a bit of a pain to type, but it was much easier than the phone I had at the time. So now it is even better, I can be so much more annoying to my friends, without using the Bluetooth headset.

The phone

My iPhone is a whole lot of fun! I have been having to tear myself away from it, there is just so much you can do with it! From just playing games to learning something new to exploration of the world from your seat. Speaking of games there are a lot to choose from. I have been on the lookout for a good rpg, the best racing game and a strategy game. Real racing looks like a great contender for a racing game, but I am also taking a Ferrari for a spin. I have no idea yet about what would be a good role playing game. I have been looking and seen a few stand outs, even downloaded a couple of the lite versions of some apps, but haven’t found anything to grab me. I saw that the strategy game Civ revolutions is on the iPhone, but I want something more like Europa Universalis if it exists on the iPhone yet.

Learning from the iPhone is really easy. There are so many apps to learn some new skill or refresh an old one. I have been looking at some of the language apps available and also some of the math ones. So far the math apps haven’t been quite what I was looking for, but several of the language3 apps have been pretty good. I haven’t really had a chance to check into any specific app yet, so I can’t make any recommendations yet. However, once I get a minute or two to actually play with the apps I have been and am downloading I will let everyone know what I think is best, although that might be awhile. I would put that in my to do app, but I am still trying to decide on one of those too.

New Phone

After picking up my new phone I have to admit I did play a little bit. I had to, it was part of setting it up on my computer and updating it. I kind of got lost for a while in the app store. Lots of fun looking stuff! Much of it free! Which is very cool. There are also, of course, a lot of apps that require payment but some of them really seem to be worth it. I already picked up a couple, mainly because they were currently like eighty percent off, figured if I was interested in them, now would be the time to get the app instead of waiting until it goes back to full price. I saw a few others that I want, but need to check into before getting as they are a bit more expensive. Ok, going to go try and finish stuff so I can go play just a bit.

Going to talk about phones again, and this time not a complaint. A little bit of fun news. I finally got my own iPhone! Yay! I waited awhile but needed to get a business line, which is different news, and I went ahead and upgraded my phone. The old phone was really at the point of falling apart. I had about three buttons on it that were cracked completely through the button and it was having some issues dealing with some of the stuff I was trying to do. Texting was a serious pain, though I did a lot of it. However, texting on my new iPhone is a really easy. Quick, fast to type and easy to cut, copy and paste if I want. I am really enjoying it so far and I have only had it for like a day. I am very anxious to play with it for a bit but I have a few things I have to get done so playing with it is having to go on hold until I finish those things, afterwards I can play with it some.

Phone home.

The fun part of having a home phone would be to have it at home and not to be there to answer it, let somebody else do it.  Just let your machine explain things, of course, an even better strategy would be to have a home phone and not to have an answering machine or service. Then you could just say, “uh, no, sorry, didn’t get your call. Did you leave a message? Oh, yeah, forgot.” Might be fun, though most would ask why you don’t just forward your calls, but you could plead phone ignorance. I am over that point myself, anymore I just don’t answer and if somebody ask I tend to just tell them why. I still like cell phones better even than the cordless home ones. I have been looking at several different phones, Panasonic KX phones and similar types, but nothing that would change my mind. Now if they had a home phone that was say like Star Trek type where it almost comes out of thin air anywhere in your house, I could probably go for that. Otherwise to be honest I don’t think I see the point. At least not for me, but I am sure that there are a lot of people and businesses out there that would be happy to have the home phones, cordless or otherwise.

I decided to stick with the guys or gals I am currently with, although I thought about different telecoms companies. Sticking with them mainly because it is easy and as you know if you read the post before I tend towards lazy. I blame my parents. (Let’s not tell them that though, ok). Anyway, it made sense (not the lazy part) as I am happy with who I am with as far as my personal lines, and I have been with them for several years so it seems like a good idea to just go with them for a business line as well. At least I know for sure how they do business.

My phone choices.

I want to pick up the new iPhone 3GS soon as I get my new job to the point of bring in more cash. I recently heard that they are having problems with overheating, which would suck. I don’t think apple has given anything official about it yet. It doesn’t look too bad, I can get over it and there are some other neat things I have come across for the phone also. There is now an application for getting Sirius/xm radio on your phone, you can download books from Amazon and a couple of other major bookstores and you can now take video with the new phone. Plus you can edit it and it has the landscape keyboard in most of its applications now. That is a great thing! If you haven’t used it, you should give it a try. I was using my friends just earlier after trying to hold a text conversation on my currently phone and it was like somebody reaching down and handing you a glass of water in the middle of the desert. Huge difference when I was texting. Huge.  Someday, right. Ah, well going to go take a look and see if there are any more new in apps for the phone.

I have been keeping up with most iPhone stuff cause I want one and I was also thinking about getting one for a business line but don’t think I would really use more than about twenty percent of its capabilities. I have compared telephones and cordless phones but don’t find them to be as convenient as cells. So, for work it will be a regular cell, most likely as cheap as I can get. Probably just go with the free ones most phone companies offer, as I don’t think I really would need much more than that. There might be a few features I would need for a business line, but about the only one I can think of off the top of my head is an answering machine or service. Call logging was something I was also looking into but it doesn’t make too much sense for what I want to use the phone for.  Almost more work getting the phone than it is doing the business. Yeah, I get side tracked a lot.
